- To extend access to water, significant advances have to be made in water resource management technologies, such as seawater desalination and wastewater reuse.
- Efficient waste management will help to improve hygiene in the cities and prevent environmental pollution. Waste recycling will limit the use of raw materials.
- Well-organized, non-polluting mass transit systems are needed to make major cities livable again.
- And climate change is not inevitable, provided that energy use can be optimized so that greenhouse gas emissions can be reduced.
These are the issues facing our worldwide network of 600 experts, supported through collaborative partnerships with industry, and university and government research institutions.
